BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A vehicle crashed into the Boise Bicycle Project's building in the early morning hours on Friday.
When BBP director Devin McComas rode up to work Friday morning, there was damage to the front of the building. A notice left by Boise Police told him who to call. With very little information so far being revealed by Boise Police about what happened and who was driving, the BBP is simply left with the task of carrying on trying to make children's Christmas wishes come true.
The BBP is currently in the midst of their 17th annual Kids Bike Giveaway. This year they are working to giveaway 570 bikes to kids for Christmas. Many of these bikes are custom built to match a drawing made by the child of what their dream bike would look like.
With the front of their building in disrepair and partially boarded up, McComas says this could be a big setback in their goal of getting 570 bikes out to kids this Christmas. "We definitely need the communities help, we don't know what the financial cost of this will be yet, so we definitely need the communities help in having a successful giveaway."
