Yup, you read that right! I am now a proud owner of the rarest nendoroid in the world!

So for those of you who dont know, this is the ryofuko-chan nendroid, aka the rarest nendoroid in the world. The reason this nendoroid is so rare is because she was given as a prize for a contest exclusively and was never given a regular release. Lemme give you all a little background, so back in 2007, there was a contest to win this exact figure as I mentioned beforehand. In order to enter, you had to buy all four DVDs of the ryofuko-chan ova (I mean, that's one way to sell your product right lol), stamp each coupon that each dvd came with, and send it in. Just like any other contest, you obviously werent guaranteed a win of the figure just because you entered, so this figure has been difficult to obtain since the beginning. Only a selected few have won this figure. Due to her rarity, she now is sold secondhand for thousands of dollars.

So i was browsing to see if anyone was selling her and saw one person had her up for bid starting at 16,000 yen ending in three days on yahoo auctions. I was pretty happy since lve sorta been hunting this fig for a while. It was described as an opened figure. Though I do prefer to get one that's sealed, I'm still fine with this one! I was a little disappointed over the fact she was an auction, but I still needed to get my hands on her. I missed a couple listings that had her selling for only 150 on another site and their Ebay listing, I cant miss this one! I put in a snipe bid and began waiting for the three days to be up. I impatiently kept checking the page over and over the past three days to see of anyone else bid on her. I mean an opportunity like this doesnt come that often! The three days have passed and nobody else had bid on her. My bid gets put in place three minutes before it ended as I requested. Three minutes pass and i won her for the starting bid amount!

and i was right, she was unboxed.
since she is a rare figure, i will not be taking her out to display her since i prefer to display rare figures i have in their boxes, but just for this article, i will be taking her out to show her condition since shes already been unboxed.

anyway, i noticed there was something raddling in the box when i picked her up. thought maybe it was just her parts but...parts secured in plastic dont make that kind of raddling sound. this sound sounded like something was loose. then i saw it was just her base. not a very good way of putting it in but w/e. guess there was no choice.

besides the little smudge mark on the display window, her box is in perfect condition. im impressed, since this figure is over a decade old. no signs of wear and tear or color fading in sight. this person obviously took great care of her.

as for the figure herself, she seems to be in perfect condition as well. she unfortunately didnt come with an instructions sheet, which i guess devalues the figure a bit if she came with one originally. her and her parts are a bit sticky, but thats just expected with a figure as old as this one. as for her base...man ive had figures with bases like this before, and believe me, they are a PAIN! so glad goodsmile changed the nendoroid bases.

its overall a nice and cute nendoroid! ive always liked the way old nendoroids looked. they look to be more higher definition than the newer ones. wish nendoroids nowadays still kept a similar look.
if you are a collector of rare figures, she would go great with your collection! its not easy to find someone selling one, and as i said before, shes extremely valuable. this figure is a must have!

thats all for today! byeee
